There is awesome, and then there is ‘AWESOME’, it pays to know the difference. The creators of Modified have described their latest offering as “your new favorite film, where Blade Runner, The Matrix and William Gibson’s novel Neuromancer collide. Bizarre.” – Meanwhile, commenters on b3ta have described it as, “like an early Depeche Mode video crossed with The Matrix starring someone who looks a bit like Derren Brown,” and “Made on a budget of $20 and worth EVERY penny.” – You know you want to watch it. You do. Trust me.

It’s a movie about a children’s toy from the 1980’s starring a former professional wrestler. What’s not to love? Sure the storyline will probably stink up theaters across the globe something fierce, but if you’re there for the storyline you deserve everything you get. Come on, admit it, secretly you can’t wait for ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ to come out. Just you, a bag of popcorn, the twin baldness of Bruce Willis and The Rock — it’s the guiltiest pleasure there is and you know you’re going to be down the cinema with the biggest, loudest screen there is so you can lose yourself in the mindless nonsense.

If you thought Ryan Gosling was ten different types of intense in “Drive”, then forget about it. That’s peanuts, it looks like a day in Disney World compared to this epic story that tells of one man trying to navigate the murky underworld of fast food drive-thrus. A real human being, and a real hero, a real Big Mac.

It’s about time we had an Oliver Stone movie in the same vein as Natural Born Killers and this comes close. Taylor Kitsch & Aaron Johnson (”I’m Kick-Ass”) are two stoners who grow some weed and then find themselves facing off against a Mexican drug cartel who have kidnapped their girlfriend, which they share. Oo-er. But the best thing about it is the bad guys, an impressive lineup of bloodthirsty baddies that includes Salma Hayek and Benicio Del Toro makes this look like Expendables 3. Lets Kick-Ass. Damn, wrong movie.

It’s true when they say 90% of all the worlds weird sh#t comes straight from the heart of Japan. Schoolgirls, tentacles and assorted oddities are just the way they roll. As far as Japan goes, this trailer is pretty vanilla. Sure, it’s the most danger movie about sewer dwelling derrière obsessed zombies, but that just seems weird because you’re not from the land of the rising sun. Be afraid.

Time to get surreal as Seth MacFarlane voices a teddy bear in this new film which tells the tale of one Mr. John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg), a fully grown human who must deal with his beloved teddy bear who, like Pinocchio, came to life as the result of a wish — and now the little shit won’t leave him alone.

A film about Nazis on the moon has been a long time coming, but now it’s here so we can all breath a collective sigh of relief and get on with our lives. The only thing now is when’s it going to be released in the US? Who knows, but until that incredible day comes (or until you torrent it) here’s the opening four minutes to whet those Nazi-on-the-moon appetites. Nom.

Jimmy Kimmel sounds the conch and his celebrity buddies come running to team up like the all star elite acting squad that they are and take part in a spoof trailer that will win every award that’s ever been conceived. Then the film will be sent into space by NASA so that if any lifeforms are out there they’ll be able to see the zenith, the very pinnacle of human endeavour. The word ‘epic’ does not do this justice..

We can all breath a collective sigh of relief as Frankie Muniz is finally back in the acting realm and this time it looks like he’s going for Oscar glory with this riveting, heartfelt and extra cheesy with mushroom performance of a mild-mannered man, who one day eats a tomato and becomes a hard nut superhero. This is the film the world’s been waiting for, it’s epic….with extra pepperoni.

Now you have to admit that this looks dead-good, eh? If ever you wanted proof that you can’t keep a good man down (or a dead evil one), here it is. Osombie is an independently-produced, feature-length zombie film, packed with violence, mayhem, guns, blood and discussions about Pokemon. Oh, and zombies. Lots of zombies. We featured the first Bin-Zombie film (Zombinladen – The Axis of Evil Dead) back in September 2011, but this production takes it to a whole new level.

The story follows Dusty, a yoga instructor from Colorado, who is on a desperate rescue mission to save her crazy brother Derek, a conspiracy theorist who is convinced Osama Bin Laden is still alive, despite having been buried at sea. In Afghanistan, Dusty falls in with a team of NATO Special Forces on a secret assignment. Turns out Derek is not so crazy after all, and that Osama has returned from his watery grave and is making an army of zombie terrorists. When the group crashes headlong into the growing zombie apocalypse, Dusty and the troops must find and destroy the root of the zombie insurgency before it infests the rest of the world.

Osombie is packed with desert (Utah, that is) action, cgi explosions, and cgi blood, but the fun factor is looking mighty high. It stars Corey Sevier (The Lost Future, Age of Dragons) and model Eve Mauro. It’s been shot and edited, and the filmmakers are currently seeking a post-production budget on Kickstarter.
