to think what a bleak and hopeless outlook to have on life....if you know that there is an infinite amount of universes and think we're the only ones that exist....haha get over it we're not even solitary in our universe...how arrogant to think that...we...humans on this dirt ball are the most intelligent and evolved of higher creatures...if their we're more intelligent creatures don't you think they would have used their existence to use people to worship them as Gods....o wait...mt.olympus anyone? roman gods anyone? archangels of the Elohim Gabri-El, Mica-El, Ari-El, Uri-El Razi-El, Ragu-El, Rapha-El, Chuma-El, Jeremie-El, Jophi-El...so granted maybe these weren't Gods or divine beings...maybe they were more flesh and bone then we imagine...maybe even out of this world? what im saying is that if there were more advanced beings they would have taken advantage when we were/are still primitive minded, and realized once we wised up that out of sight out of mind was the best plan and boom now we think we earthings are the pinnacle of creation....that we were birthed from gasses and chemicals bonding....maybe thats how matter was created but certainly not a creature as complex as us....that would take some time...genetic manipulation even? im just saying because right now we think we're it...it doesn't mean this will always be the case...and if they are out there....which i mean c'mon its 2012, i'd be more impressed if you had evidence that there isn't aliens....but if they exist...who made them...another race....a true God? God is consciousness.....from nothingness came something consciousness willed it to be matter...big bang....consciousness made life

Evolution has not been debunked moron. You sound like the guy who says peanut butter doesn't change so nothing evolves. I can't believe how stupid people are to believe in this invisible flying answer to everything. Way to ignore the progress of mankind, good job holding back reality. To scared to rot in the ground when you die? Get over it and be honest with yourself.

evolution theory has already been debunked because of gaps in the fossile record, and that experiment where protein molecules randomly form in a glass sphere was debunked because it was conducted in earths gravity not in space....please stfu all you uneducated athiest/religious retards who think they can disprove or prove anything involving the existence of a god...you cant...thats the whole point to it

America WOULD be a great country if we actually followed our constitution. Sadly, the great flock outnumber us and they hate the separation of church and state. I guess they see protecting people from religious oppression as an oppression of their religious right to oppress.

As a Christian myself, I don't understand how anything Dawkins is saying is very polarizing. I am against 'large' religion or huge churches that make millions off of their congregation, and I believe that ones belief is between themselves and God. Churches are beneficial, as they provide a gathering place for people of similar belief, as a place free of persecution and judgement. Much like Dawkins, I take no issue with the every day Christian who simply believes and wants to further their commitment to Christ. However, I do not believe there is a need to persecute others who do not believe -- either they will, or they will not. As long as they are aware of Christ, that's enough for me. I'll let them decide themselves; but I won't persecute them and try to force them to believe in Christ.

For those posting comments personifying evolution, you do not understand the process. There is no 'invention' of the eye. If you add heat to a volume of chemicals, changes occur. Now, imagine a planet size body consisting of massive numbers of chemicals that are moving (through the ebb and flow of the ocean, the rotation of the earth, its rotation around the sun, the heat exchange through magma flow, etc.) and being exposed to continually changing environments (temperature, barometric pressure, etc.). A series of complex compounds (not yet life) would inevitably form; then a single compound would inevitably form a spherical shape. This spherical shape would, as its predecessors did, respond to the chemicals around it. Many of these spheres would be destroyed by outside influences, but over time a few would survive. And a few of these would absorb outside chemicals, which would then react and change within the environment of the sphere. Fast forward millions of years, and these spherical compounds have joined with other spherical compounds; most have been destroyed, but some have survived. Of the trillions upon trillions of these slowly and randomly developed compounds, a very minute few have developed the ability to respond to stimuli in a way that appears life-like--some developed extensions that respond to the environment (think the tails of sperm), still others have developed nodules that detect light, etc. . Now set this scheme against a backdrop of billions of years. Evolution is not a quick 'invention', but a slow process of random chemical changes that result in either a compound being destroyed or surviving. Every single part of the human body (heart, eye, lung, liver, etc.) has a long evolutionary chain that has been documented and observed through the means available today. We are lucky to have any fossils. And to those who believe that the beauty of life begs the answer, 'There must be a master designer;' please note that most of the universe is completely uninhabitable--extreme temperatures, black holes, vacuums. And furthermore, there are many more universes (possibly an infinite amount) that are almost 100% completely unable to support life. If your next question is, 'Then how do you explain us;' the answer is, 'Because we are possible and we got lucky.' Of all the infinite possible universes, and infinite possible planets, if a creature could, in one of these universes, possibly exist and be aware of its existence, it makes sense for that creature to look around itself and say "Well, I'll be. There is no other life apparent to me with such a high level of intelligence. That must mean that I'm special." And it's true, we are special. But not because we were created by some magic fairy in the sky. Instead, it's because we are one of INFINITE possibilities, and happen to be the one that got lucky.

hey mr eye ball guy. the eye evolved millions of years ago and the first eye used amineral based lens and it wasnt very good. the sole purpose of that organisms eye was predatory...they were called trilobites and had the longest/successful reign of any creature that lived on this planetthey are ll extinct and buried in sand... i missed the part in the bible why god created and 300 million years later drive them all extinct
