After nuclear war, the world was divided into three states and London is the capital of Oceania, ruled by a party who has total control over all citizens. Winston Smith is a humble servant of the party and commits the audacity to fall in love with Julia, a totalitarian society where emotions are considered illegal. They try to escape the eyes and ears of the “Big Brother”, knowing the difficulties they would face. In director Michael Radford’s classic film, Orwell’s novel gets a fitting adaptation.
