Climbing the North Face of the Eiger in Record Speed
Standing at 3,970 metres (13,020 ft) tall the Eiger is a scary mountain in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland that has claimed many lives (just ask Clint Eastwood). Attempting to climb it without trying to break any record is challenging enough but for Swiss rock climber and mountaineer Ueli Steck nothing less than breaking a new speed record will do. So off he goes, sans any safety gear or ropes, clambering up that treacherous terrain like a record-breaking human Alpine ibex. If you are afraid of heights, look away now.
