‘This is Phil Fish’ uses the Fez creator as a jumping point to explore internet celebrity and the backlash that can come from such a quick, meteoric rise to fame. Phil Fish got a lot of stick and hate from the online world and this video, by Innuendo Studios, looks at why that happened.
It seems people were just jealous and decided that one of the reasons Phil got famous was because he was friends with other famous indie game developers. Anyway, the video’s a great little essay on the expectations of an audience and the whole idea of internet fame, using Fish as a case study.
