3D Printed Fibonacci Zoetrope Sculptures Will Make You Go ‘Wow’
Artist John Edmark created these sculptures which are designed to be spun around under strobe lights—or in this case filmed at a very short shutter speed (1/4000 sec)—which means the sculptures appear animated and warp and change before your eyes. Edmarks notes that “The placement of the appendages is determined by the same method nature uses in pinecones and sunflowers”.
The result is magical with the number of spirals on each sculpture equalling a Fibonacci number.
