Filmmaker Philip Evans filmed skaters Jak Pietryga and Chris Jones skating about the streets of London, and then done something unique—he printed the footage on over 3,000 pieces of paper and then turned it onto an animation. The result has all the hallmarks of an entertaining skate video, great tricks, cool locations, but adds something that no other skate film has.

Yes, this is most definitely that weird part of YouTube, the part where someone uses the Source Filmmaker to create a bizarre animation for the strangest version of the Thomas The Tank Engine theme song you’ll ever hear, complete with jittering video game characters and smiling policeman. It’s also oddly addictive and you’ll want to just keeping listening to it.

The entire song, every component of it, was created from Childish Gambino saying “Eh.”

The name Roy Kafri probably means nothing to you but after you watch the video for his song Mayokero, you’ll know him as that guy who had that really awesome music video which featured popular album covers brought to life. Using classic and iconic covers, from David Bowie to Michael Jackson and Bob Dylan, director Vania Heymann gets them all to beatbox along to Kafri’s track.

It’s subtle, but it makes for an entirely mesmerizing few minutes.

While Pixar movies are aimed at adults as well as kids, they’re nowhere near as dark as this animation by Pixar animators Andrew Coats and Lou Hamou-Lhadj. The short film reveals a very bleak tale of personal tragedy set in the landscape of the Wild West, a tale that has plenty of loss and mourning in it, so don’t expect anything cheery.

While the plot might be a departure for Pixar animators, the animation is still as exquisite as their movies though, full of detail and expression.

Stock photos have really come into their own in the age of photo and video editing software, as it means the straight-laced poses of the models can be used very creatively. And that’s what’s happening in this video by MysteryGuitarMan who has placed himself singing in stock photos, making for very amusing results.

It’s a dizzying example of how the show will put in seemingly throwaway visual references, which mean so much more for those with a keen eye.
