In this video he TedTalks about why he thinks txt spk is an entirely new form of speech, calling it “a miraculous thing” which enables us to write like we speak, which makes it special. So don’t worry about it signifying the death of intelligence, instead it’s the birth of a new way of writing. LOL!

But rather than just watch some mindless Michael Bay movie, watch this foreign film about a young guy who pretends to his just-awoken-from-a-long-coma mother that the East Germany she once knew and loved is still there, even though it isn’t. It’s a tragicomic tale with an ingenious idea at its center.
Doug Gautraud’s grandfathers were pretty awesome—one was an engineer with many patents under his belt who was also an accomplished sailor, the other was a war hero, wood carver and outdoorsman. But Doug isn’t quite as awesome as them, he’s spent six years in college without getting a degree and he drinks way too much coffee.
No one likes poop, but of all the poop you might come across in the world, baby poop is the most inoffensive (well, i guess it is if you are a parent?). But not for this guy, he freaks out and won’t even bring himself to look at it, or be in the same room as it. And it’s not even real poop, it’s just chocolate pudding, but he won’t let it get close enough to him for him to figure that out.
