Futurama and the Science of Comedy
Kristian Williams (aka kaptainkristian) is something of a specialist when it comes to analysing pop culture, be it the X-Men’s suits, Calvin & Hobbes’ appeal or what makes Pixar so relatable. For his latest video essay he looks at how the complex and involved subjects of science and mathematics were cleverly interwoven with humor in Matt Groening and David X. Cohen’s sci-fi animation Futurama.
They didn’t just imbue these subjects with humor either, but also plenty of emotion too.
