Learn How to Speak Fargo with This Supercut of the Movie’s Characters
There’s no doubting it, one of the biggest takeaways anyone who first watches Fargo will come away with is the characters’ accents ringing around their ears. In this video by Candice Drouet she pays tribute to the Scandinavian-like Minnesota Nice accent that populates the movie, with the characters often talking with a ‘yah shure!’ and ‘Oh’ and ‘jeez’.
The video also notes how the Coens used the accent for clever effect in the film, to not only make middle America sound exotic, but also to contrast the pleasantness of their voices with the violence of the crimes being committed.
