Major Brian Shul, the legendary former Air Force pilot, looks back at the day he flew the fastest jet in the world, the SR-71 Blackbird, across western USA. Nicknamed ‘The Sled’ it was wrapped in secrecy since it joined the US Air Force inventory back in the 1960s. It has since gone on to become aviation legend and history and in this video Shul talks about what it’s like to fly it.

He also recounts the brilliant LA Center speed story about when they flew over air traffic control in LA and asked for a ground speed check.
