No need to panic, but scientists have noted for some time now, decades in fact, that the outer layer of the sun is slowing down. But it’s only recently that they’ve been able to understand why this is happening—it all comes down to solar radiation, the same radiation that heats the earth, but while it warms our planet it’s causing the sun, due to special relativity, to slow down starting from its outer layer using a kind of braking effect.

It’s not going to do anything to how the sun affects us, but scientists now need to discover how it might affect the solar magnetic field, which causes solar flares which in turn can effect telecommunications down here on earth.

It’s tough being a parent, and fatherhood, one half of that, is what’s explored in this funny video by Australian comedian Troy Kinne. Kinne and his friends amusingly act out vary instances of what fathers wish they would hear from their offspring, but never, ever do. From being considerate with the TV volume when dad’s have a lie-in to replacing borrowed money.

It hits the right tone between funny and feels and it needs a part two.

Breaking up is a hard thing to do and the old ‘it’s not you it’s me’ trope gets tired pretty quickly so sometimes you have to be inventive when it comes to giving reasons as to why it’s over. If you can’t be bothered to think of any yourself then London-based comedian and filmmaker Thomas ‘TomSka’ Ridgewell has compiled this sketch that has many, many different excuses.

And Tom even demonstrates how to deliver the bad news to you significant other.

YouTube science channel ‘Kurz Gesagt – In a Nutshell’ looks at the concept know as the Fermi Paradox, which basically states that if the universe is so damn old and so damn big with trillions of stars, why have we not met any aliens yet? Or found any sign of their existence? And what does it mean for our own future? This video takes a look at this and questions whether they’ve existed and been wiped out or whether our tech is just to primitive to communicate with them.

A lot of people joke they have OCD when they like things to be orderly and neat, but if you have the actual condition of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, it’s nothing to joke about. This insightful and touching video provides a 3 minute insight into living life with OCD, a disorder more than 3 million Americans are affected by.

It seems that something called “extra-pair mating” (aka infidelity) is a common human behavior linked directly to dopamine, which makes us feel happy.

Another hormone, vasopressin, also plays a role in how likely a person might be to cheat.

Steve Kardynal has been away from YouTube for awhile, his videos pranking Chatrouletters and incorporating songs into real-life conversations were viral gold. Well now he’s back again using songs in real life, this time lip-syncing along in a conversation with his buddy, who lip syncs back any replies.

It also has an appearance from Kardynal’s creepy room mate who is hilarious and gets all the funny lip syncs.

There’s some meta YouTubing going on here, as YouTuber JoshPalerLin goes to the tattoo parlour to get himself four brand new tats. Tats that are the faces of four other YouTubers, namely Logan Paul, Jake Paul, RiceGum, and PewDiePie. They’re not subtle either, with two on his chest and then two more on his back. He’ll no doubt regret this decision later on in life.

And his mom certainly isn’t happy about them when he shows her either. But at least he got the views though, hey?

YouTube channel Internet Comment Etiquette explores the internet video subgenre that focuses on Russians dangling from buildings. No doubt you’ve come across one at some point or another, but what gives? What is that they find so appealing about precariously gripping onto the edge of really tall buildings and filming themselves?

Are they just really brave? Or really stupid? Or bored? This video will find out. Kind of.
