Was Jesus the first zombie? Or was that Lazarus? Who knows, but in this short film the New Testament stories get a schlock film twist with some low-budget thrills in this mash up of religious parables and pop culture. With gory FX and Jesus fighting the undead with a swordfish, any fan of genre films will find lots and lots and lots to keep them entertained in this proof of concept film.
The legendary Power Ranger takes on Mortal Kombat’s undead ninja, in a battle where the winner will walk away with bragging rights and the loser sails across the river of pain to reach his eternal resting place in the underworld. Will Scorpion ram a spike through the White Ranger’s soft skull? Or will the Ranger do some ghost slaying?
From Thoreal to Thor Du France, the man who plays Thor has heard them all, and he embraces them, for he is mighty and thee gods have commanded him to laugh merrily at our earthly memes. Who cares if the actual Thor movies are a complete load of crap, the actors who star in them are completely awesome and that what counts.
Nostalgia overload! Some of these titles will be so familiar to you, it’ll be like an old friend coming to visit, where upon your hear their voice and the memories of wasted youth come flooding back to you. All those times you could’ve been playing outside, instead you were locked away in your bedroom, working on that hand-eye coordination so you could be a pilot when you grow up. A pilot or an office worker.
You don’t have to be the best looking guy on campus to pick up girls, you just need a fat suit and some confidence and some humor and bam! You’ll have plenty of girls giving your their number because your charm is good enough. In fact, it seems that the guy picks up more girls in a fat suit than he does in his own skin, so the lesson to learn here is, let’s all get obese and we’ll be much more attractive.
Read the book? Seen the movie? Then you were probably sorely disappointed about how they took such a cool novel and turned it into a stinking pile of poop pie. But it’s Hollywood, they can pretty much take any decent source material and grind it down into cookie cut blandness. So maybe they should’ve had it end like this instead.
So Google decided to fuck around with the comments on YouTube, making it a much, much more shitty place to be. Well done Google, bravo. It seems to work like this, Google wants you to use Google+ but no one wants to use it cos they’re all on Facebook, so they’re slowly turning everything they own on the net into some derivative of Google+ until you’re forced to join it or leave the internets forever and go live in a cave using smoke signals to communicate. If you ever wondered what you could do with a spare 7 days, you could shoot 350 human faces, then take the next 10 days to assemble the 4000+ photos you took into an epic music video where each person looks like they’re singing a line of a song, much like they’ve done in the video above. Or you could just sit on the couch and watch South Park.
Directed by Aaron Mallin, this song’s taken from Canadain rapper Snak The Ripper’s album “White Dynamite”. Sitting there in a tux with a chicken on his lap, we get a glimpse into Snak’s psyche with a video that creates an introspective mood and tone as the usually guarded MC lets us into his mindscape. And there’s even a guitar being smashed for some good old rock and roll thrills.
For those non-Australians amongst us, The Elegant Gentleman’s Guide to Knife Fighting is an Australian sketch show, and these are bumper animations made for it, taking classic and classical paintings and giving them a surreal and silly spin with a nod to Terry Gilliam, so Ruben’s picture of God eating his own son becomes God blowing raspberries on his son, for instance.
The 2012 movie Dredd serves as inspiration for this fanmade series. With a John Carpenter-esque soundtrack the series takes in 6 episodes called Case File #1, and is based upon the Judge Dredd Universe following stories from the published case-files from the 2000AD comic. And if you were/are a fan of that comic, you’ll find plenty to enjoy here.
