Back when there was an East and West Germany the Stasi, the GDR’s secret police, would monitor whoever they wanted to find out if they were being subversive. In this German thriller a Stasi agent is monitoring the cultural scene in East Berlin and starts to feel some warmth and compassion for the people he’s spying on.
In honor of Michael Caine’s 80th Birthday, why not do the decent thing and revisit the greatest “Michael Cain-off” in the history of all things in the known and unknown universes. Actors Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon have the greatest back-and-forth in the history of cinema with their hilarious Michael Caine impersonations. Watch it and weep tears of joy.
No one’s going to begrudge this prank, where a disguised Jeff Gordon — the professional stock car racing driver — goes to a car dealership and takes the car salesman on a test drive that he won’t be forgetting in a hurry. Ever. You wouldn’t want to be this salesman’s underwear after he goes on this rip-roaring adventure.
Who knew, but a washing machine slowly self-destructing, set to the crazed music of Autechre is addictive to watch. As the washing machine frighteningly falls apart at the seams the soundtrack of Autechre’s fucked up sounds is a perfect accompaniment to the glitched out destruction that’s happening before your very eyes. Who needs drugs to take you to another level when you have stuff like this. Epic.

Game of Thrones gets reimagined as a high school drama set amongst the corridors and playing fields of Westeros Valley High. Like, it’s totally like, you know, like, winter is coming, like. It’s pretty awesome stuff, but you’ll be grateful that the HBO series isn’t set in the environs of a high school, cos it would get pretty damn annoying after a while. But then again, Game of Thrones doesn’t have a prom night. Yet.
One way to cut down on the production costs of your new music video is to get people to send in clips of themselves cutting some shapes to your record and then get them edited together and upload it to the YouTube and everyone gets to see themselves jumping around like famous internet people for a few minutes.
Even in the criminal underworld, watching boxsets of the best TV show in the universe without waiting for your buddies to catch up to where you are is a total no-no. It’s just an unwritten rule no matter what your background that you don’t go jumping ahead when you’re all watching a series together. It’s just not fair. The resulting consequence is not pretty.
