Stunning Stop Motion Video Made By Sanding Objects Away Half Millimeter at a Time
Armed with an edge sander and a camera Laurin Döpfner has created a mesmerizing stop-motion video. He sands away various objects—wood, walnut, transformer, skull and analogue camera—half a milimeter at a time and takes photographs of each stage. Then using around 650 photos he turns them into an animation which reveals the inner structures of the objects in a fascinating manner.
It’s certainly a labor of love, but the results are more than worth the invested time.
