For such an awesome concept, namely giant robots and giant monsters beating the crap out of each other, how can this film get so universally panned? Phrases like “An insult to sight itself!” and “WHY LORD, WHY?” often get thrown at you if you ask someone if they’ve seen it, but at least one good thing can come out of it: this Honest Trailer telling it like it is.
There’s some symbolism in this, for sure — and not just symbolism either, but the sort of animation that you might expect to see in Japan, except there would probably be more demon “tentacles” than there is in this one. And if you were looking to teach about the birds and the bees this might not be the best place to start, although it would be a good place to finish. (NSFW-ish, cos animated flying, exploding penises)

It’s his passion, he says, to be the most quoted man and so he’s dedicated his life to achieving that goal, so well done Greg, well done. Prepare to be unnerved as you watch this strange video for French DJ Mike Lévy who goes by the name Gesaffelstein. Shot on a moving camera that’s always backing away, your eyeballs are assaulted with various inexplicable images, from clones carrying assault rifles, a woman screaming at the camera, to a knighting ceremony and other oddities, while the camera constantly recoils — and you can’t blame it.
A giant warehouse in Brisbane is about to be demolished but before it disappears off the face of the earth, street artists Sofles — Fintan Magee, Treas, and Quench — were given the opportunity to cut loose in there and do what the hell they liked. And what they liked was to create a graffiti timelapse video covering nearly every inch of wall space with a seemingly unlimited amount of paint. It looks like great fun, one to defo try at home.
The Onion’s movie critic Peter K. Rosenthal knows what’s important in a movie like The Hunger Games: Catching Fire — and that’s just how hot the boy members of its cast are. Compared to the Twilight saga these guys aren’t anywhere near them on the totally hot scale, sure some of them are cute, Rosenthal makes the case for, but hot? No.
You will laugh tears of hilarity while watching this, as prankster Steve Kardynal brings amusement, astonishment and bafflement in equal measure to the populace of Chatroulette — who, to their credit, respond very well, some of them even joining in and singing back to Steve as he swings, in tight vest and underwear and finally completely naked, on his homemade wrecking ball for all to see. Glorious.
If you want to make a video that the internet will lose its shit over and get over 2 million views in less than 24 hours, then get two Hollywood actors and get them to recreate a preposterous music video made by a rap star who thinks he’s the second coming and his reality TV star wife. Hey presto you have this insanely good video from Seth Rogen and James Franco, mocking Kimye, and full of the megalulz.
