You’ll never look at a tabletop in the same way again after seeing this video of a guy with a miniature skateboard doing tricks and jumps on a rotating table. This would be the perfect thing to do when as a kid you’re really bored sat at the dinner table at a restaurant, because not only would it pass the time but it would really, really annoy your parents.
As a band Pink Floyd have created many an iconic album, from Wish You Were Here to The Dark Side of The Moon. But as well as their iconic studio albums they’re also renowned for their legendary live performances, featuring all many of props and crazy stage designs. All this and more is contained in the new Pink Floyd exhibition called ‘Their Mortal Remains’ which opened at London’s V&A museum recently. It’s spectacular and a collection like this—combining the personal with the conceptual—has never been seen before.
If you were looking for something that was both visually stunning to look at while also being completely freaky and WTF, then you’ll have found it in this experimental animation by Baron Lanteigne. Lanteigne calls it “a piece about our collective effort to archive the human legacy” but you can take it as straight up CGI eye candy if you wish, because it works as that equally well.
You may or may not have heard of The Pixar Theory, which was first proposed by Jon Negroni. This video further explores the idea, which is basically that all the films are connected and take place in a shared universe. Not only that but all the action that takes place in the films happens chronologically on the same timeline—it’s kind of mindblowing and this video details how it works.
Rick may be a high functioning alcoholic which might not be good for his liver, but as this new teaser from Adult Swim reveals, it does have some benefits. For the video the Rick and Morty team have collaborated with Fox to create a promotional video for the Alien: Covenant movie. And it’s a great merging of franchises, as we see an alien face hugger leap onto Rick’s face. However his years of drink and drug abuse save him from being killed.
This year will be the fifth anniversary of ‘Gangnam Style’ PSY’s smash hit song that gathered over a billion views on YouTube. And just recently PSY released his eighth studio album, 4×2=8, along with two viral-primed music videos for the dual singles ‘New Face’ and ‘I Luv It.’ This is the video for the former of those tracks.
Nothing brings greater cheer than enjoying others misfortune, as can be seen in full effect here. Revel in schadenfreude as everything from skiing to a mud mask goes wrong and you feel your spirits lifted as the fails come thick and fast. Sure it may not do your karma any good, so be careful when you get up from watching these.
For fans of Ridley Scott’s original, it at first seemed almost sacrilegious that a sequel was being made. The source material on which Blade Runner is based, Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, never had a sequel, so how was this going to work? But then Arrival director Denis Villeneuve was on board and now the first official trailer has dropped and things are seriously looking up.
If you’ve seen the new Thor Ragnarok trailer you’ll have noticed that it didn’t featured Natalie Portman’s character, Jane Foster, the astrophysicist and Thor’s love interest in the first two films. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has said that’s because most of the action takes place away from earth, but Portman has said she didn’t want to do any more Marvel movies.
It’s an old internet adage that putting some goggly eyes and a mouth on an inanimate object renders it hilarious. Animator Moonchay has taken that a step further and put funny eyes and mouths on objects but not just photos, actual videos with motion and everything. The results are cute, amusing, and guaranteed to put a big smile on your face.
You may like the new Mortal Kombat X game, heck you may even like the animation. But on the latter you would be wrong because actually, objectively, the animation totally and utterly sucks. Why?
